History: This building was built at the turn of the century and was one of the first buildings to occupy what is today, Main Street Hardy Arkansas. originally the building was used as the Hardy Post Office (Right Side as you face the building) and as a Pharmacy on the left side. The building subsequently changed hands and was most notably used as the Law Office and residence of Carmack Sullivan. a brilliant and highly respected local attorney, from whom the building derives it's name. Until his death in the late 1900's The Harvard educated Sullivan was renown throughout the state and local areas for his legal prowess and political connections as well as his colorful personal life. On September 22th, 1993 this building was entered into the National Register of Historical Places by the United States Department of the Interior. Functionality: The interior space was redesigned with functionality and versatility and affordability in mind. This 4000 square foot building has been subdivided into four functional spaces with two separate retail or office areas downstairs and 2 modernized single bedroom apartments upstairs. This plan was created to accommodate future merchants that would like to live above their workspace. All interior doors have been replaced with high quality wood doors Walls: All interior walls have been redesigned and reframed to capture functionality and versatility. 1st Floor walls are covered with Knotty Pine Panels and cypress log siding wainscoting. 2nd Floor walls are traditional sheet rock and have been primed and painted Electrical: New service connections, wiring, receptacles, switches and light fixtures Plumbing: New plumbing and sewer systems.
